FAQs

What exactly is Cremation Art?

Cremation Art is a way to memorialize your loved one, while also incorporating some of their ashes within the piece itself.

The remains will be carefully embedded within the inner portion of your custom sculpture or wearable art, protecting your loved one's ashes and providing a piece of artwork that is as unique and they were.

Are all of the ashes used in a cremation sculpture?

A very small amount of ashes will be incorporated into the sculpture or wearable art, allowing you to preserve remaining ashes in other ways, or to spread the remaining ashes according to you loved ones wishes.

Please check with local laws and regulations when spreading ashes in public places. If you have further questions, please feel welcome to email us.

What does the Creamation Art process look like?

It all starts with a consultation. You'll speak or email directly with the artist and share some memories of your loved one, as well as some important notes and ideas on how you would like your loved one to be honored. Once you and the artist have agreed upon the design, you'll be sent an email link to process project reservation payment and instructions on how to deliver the remains to the artist.

As soon as your the artist has your loved one's remains in their keeping, you will be notified and work will begin on your sculpture.

You can expect updates periodically from the artist during this time, so please monitor your emails. Upon receiving final design approval from you, a second invoice for the outstanding balance of the piece will be sent to your email. There is a time limit on remitting payment for this invoice as we only have a small window of time in which the remaining process can be completed successfully.

Your loved one's remains will then be carefully and loving infused within the inner, most protected portions of your sculpture. Now the sculpture will slowly dry over the next two weeks.

Once the sculpture is completely dried, the piece will go through its first kiln process. Your sculpture will then be carefully glazed according to your specifications and then go through the kiln a second time.

After your piece has been glaze fired, it will be checked for any imperfections. Now it will be carefully packaged and shipped directly to your door, or hand delivered by the artist.

What should I expect for pricing and payment procedure?

Pricing of your unique work of art will be discussed and agreed upon before any work begins.
